Meditation does not work for me. I keep doing it for longer and longer sessions (10 minutes is my max here - I am not yet guru/yogi level) and I try doing different things (focussing on my breath, having no thoughts, letting thoughts pass through me) and I very little out of it.

When you listen to Buddhists with decades of experience, the results seem to vary a lot. Asians often get near total concentration in a matter of months. Most Westerners admit that they can't control their thoughts even after decades. Maybe there is a genetic component?
