Meditation does not work for me. I keep doing it for longer and longer sessions (10 minutes is my max here - I am not yet guru/yogi level) and I try doing different things (focussing on my breath, having no thoughts, letting thoughts pass through me) and I very little out of it.

I get mild relaxation and no enlightenment beyond the realization that 10 minutes is a long ass amount of time. Am I doing something wrong or does this stuff just not work for some people?

1. some enlightenment 2. some crazy visions during meditation 3. to feel measurably different after doing it I don't get any of these.

Never gotten 1 or 2. I do usually feel differently, about the same as if I went for a long walk. I find it "works" for processing of unprocessed emotions and more awareness of how I respond to things - esp if I actually stick to it over time.

Can achieve similar or better through mindfulness? I find it helpful to kind of zoom out of my own body and acknowledge "hey look Molson is angry right now lol"
