Some phrases that are immediate red flags to turn on my B.S. alarm: "This time it's different..." "In the future, everybody will be doing..." "This is the only way to..." "No way this fails..." What else?
“Folks” In my experience, anyone who refers to people using this term has taken some sort of dale carnegie like course on how to be more relatable/likable.

This has gotten ruined by people not being able to use previously common expressions that have fallen foul of various sex and gender zealots. "Hey guys" or "Ladies and gentlemen" is hate speech now.
