Hydroxychloroquine is contraindicated in the patients most likely to die from the virus. Said another way, if you’re diabetic or have heart disease you can’t take it. Turns out these people are also most likely to die of covid, possibly explaining the correlation seen here.

Actually studies have shown Hydroxychlorquine benefits patients with diabetes alone. Even moreso than newer more expensive drugs. This study was pre-covid, but it says diabetics are helped by the drug.https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/912548 …

While that is interesting, I can't look at a study that talks about the benefits of adding a 3rd drug to a cocktail of metformin and something else when a simple dietary change puts people in permanent diabetes remission.

This is the best argument I’ve heard to explain HCQ success if not actually effective. That being said, the stats from the countries using this Pre-hospital don’t lie, and that appears the best way to deal with this.
