I interpreted as an instance of Taleb’s “doctor who looks like a butcher”. There is nothing wrong with dressing well. But, if one *needs* to dress well, it’s perhaps overcompensation. On average and all other things equal.
These rules don't work over the long run because society is dynamic and once this idea becomes popular enough, people stop dressing up for meetings with Thiel. That said, if someone feels the need to dress up, they're probably too much of a conformist to be successful according
