@patrick_oshag listened to the Ali Hamed podcast. I wouldn’t be as excited as he is about loaning money to e-commerce small businesses. Yes I’m aggregate their sales have doubled but this has delayed the reveal of how many bad loans are in the space.
Are they new small business? Sort of. This is not like the sporting goods store, toy shop, gift shop, or apparel co that every town in the USA used to have. The internet is a giant marketplace. Get big or get out.
Finally, many of these businesses are getting squeezed very very very hard. They are between monopolist amazon and a wave of vicious competition from China.
