This is insightful. Don’t try to rebut it by saying how bad Trump is. The WHOLE POINT is that what motivates them to lie is so that more people will learn the Greater Truth that Trump Is Bad. If you merely criticize Trump, you are defending his thesis!https://thefederalist.com/2020/05/08/nate-silver-almost-explains-how-liberal-media-lies/ …

"Trump = bad" news coverage is done because it drives clicks and reads, which drives ad revenue. For a different audience, "Trump = good" news coverage is done because it drives clicks and reads, which drives ad revenue. No need to make it more complicated.

"The media" isn't a conspiratorial collection of mastermind geniuses. What we see is the outcome of a very complex system of many smaller entities whose behavior is determined by myopic incentives.

Sorry, but that’s not good enough. The behavior we are talking about is not merely bias and slant, which could be unconscious, but actual lying, which is intentional and which can be criticized harshly. They do not need to be “masterminds”. Mediocre minds ALSO lie on purpose!

I’m not saying they shouldn’t be criticized for bullshit coverage. He’ll, for lying, they should be sued if their lies damage others. But that doesn’t mean I’m not right. Lie or no lie. Omission or fair coverage. They’re just doing it for clicks, likes, reads, views...for money
