If we want to restart manufacturing in this country, we need to change the laws of the United States to allow manufacturers to profit from their manufacturing. There’s no money to be made now competing against state support, cheaper, better supply chain, China. Full stop.
Are you advocating that the government subsidize the cost of manufacturing? It seems to me that US manufacturing cost is high because of the cost of labor. What other factors are there?
Not necessarily. There are many obstacles to manufacturing in this country which are not the lack of subsidies. - crazy high currency exchange rates - lack of universal medical care for citizens (meaning manufacturers have to pay) - unhealthy population (obesity diabetes)
