If anything, it will probably get extended. There are people who really need it, and the states aren't competent enough to distinguish. Just like they can't track and isolate confirmed/suspected covid cases.
Would be much much much better if they lowered the amount and gave it to everybody regardless of whether or not they have a job. Agree with you that our government is embarrassingly incompetent.

I could see them just looking the other way on people going back to work and still collecting the UI, or formally making it a UBI that's not contingent on unemployment.

Anyway, the V-shaped recovery folks are not thinking about this, or about how most businesses are going to postpone any capital expenditures they can until things look "clearer".
