How excited would a direct mail marketer be to be able to send a package for free, with 100% certainty the customer would open it? That's the situation restaurants are in right now. Don't tell me they can't train us to order directly, instead of via GrubHub or whatever.

To be clear: Include messaging in the GrubHub order that says, basically, "call us directly instead". Then you're using GrubHub as a marginally profitable / breakeven marketing channel for a much more profitable direct business. Sure some restaurants are doing this already.

On amazon if we do this we get suspended. This give us no medium of communication to the customer other than the product.

Can you print your own website URL on your packages?

Can, but must give a call to action and reason for it to be effective.
