Amazon engages in tons of anticompetitive behavior. The media focus on their private label division feels like an Amazon plot to distract the nation from the worse things they do. Feels analogous to how they perpetuate the myth that their retail biz loses money.

Oh my god, Amazon looked at sales data to see what products they should launch for their private label division? And they sold those products anti-competitively low prices? The horror!

The real scandal is in product safety and intellectual property. That's where Amazon should get fucked.

Replying to @Molson_Hart
had a large client ($1b/yr rev in US) and they were "negotiating" with Amazon for months... tried to tell them they were getting played... they didn't believe me. eventually I found and showed them the legal approval Amazon got to do DTC for their product in their largest market.

typical behavior from them. they're the masters of the legal but unethical. now, that said, I don't think this behavior harms consumers that's why, to me anyways, it's nbd.
