Is there room for a politician who uses Feynman-esque first principles to explain her views?

don't think it's possible. Physics is based on search for truth and ways to explain objective reality, politics is diametric oposite.

How are you so sure? People seem pretty reasonable to me.

while physics is 100% facts-based, politics is like <40, 50, 10>% based on <emotions, incentives, facts>. This setup just does not lend itself to what we usually think of “explaining from first principles”.

People always say that politics is about emotion but I think that people just vote according to what benefits them, ie low taxes or more govt benefits. If I’m wrong, maybe someone could figure out a way to do first principles explanation AND stuff that appeals to our emotions.
