There is another category in the middle too— seemingly normal rational people whose social media persona is just a big falsehood. Not cartoons just fakers.

Could be the other way around. Success makes you who you are and deep down inside we’re all cartoons. For example, the concept of “fuck you money”.

I think bc social media awards “engagement” the extremes get amplified and takes up the Pareto rule of eyeballs. Middle of the road is bland, so even if you think the person is a clown you can’t stop watching the shit show.

In this sense, the inner child is rewarded over the sensible adult. Increased attn = bigger audience = more monetization ops. It’s like 2/20 w/ HFs. Quantity over quality. Clickbait over nuance. Sad!

What/who are examples? The people who are most successful at social media seem to be extremely deliberate in their posts. They’re not flippantly acting out, they’re storytelling, playing with our minds. Example: the Kardashians

KimK exploded by being extreme (sex tape, body modifications, etc.). Trump is of course the classic example. Of course, once you obtain your audience you have to moderate a bit in today’s cancel culture enviro. But going to the extremes is the best growth hack on the come up.

Easy to become famous. Hard to stay famous?

Yeah, that’s def the rule in boxing. Harder to become champ, then to stay champ. It was amazing watching 2016 bc Trump basically bullied his way into legitimacy by being shameless; appealing to our inner school yard child w/ lil Marco and low energy Jeb memes.

Just as amazing watching things enfold today, bc that playbook, while it works from a societal manipulation POV, ain’t gonna do shit against biology. So staying champ (being an effective leader in this case), as we can see, requires whole diff skills and approach.
