I’m in my 6th year being in a CEO peer group run by @tomcuthbert in SATX.
These are groups that meet regularly and provide peer input, guidance, education, and fellowship. The idea is that this helps everyone get better at life/business
It’s been transformative (for me).

First, there are a number of peer group orgs across the world: Entrepreneur’s Org (EO) Vistage The Alternative Board (TAB) YPO And many more In each, you join a “small group” of peers that are usually part of a broader local chapter and network. 2/x

Each of these organizations has found its own niche. They vary in terms of: Intensity vs Social Member-led versus Facilitator Price Geo Profit vs non-profit Secular vs religious People usually find them through friends. Kind of like joining a cult that way. :-) 3/x

I’ve seen a remarkable amount of personal growth in being in a CEO peer group. I’ve also developed very strong opinions about them. What do you want to know? What can I share? 4/4

1. Are they less useful in quarantine? 2. What percent of their usefulness drops when you don't have a b2b business? 3. Which group is best for what? X best for learning. Y best for networking. Z best bang for your buck. 4. When does it not make sense to join?

4. I wouldn’t join if mindset is off (see previous comment). It’s all about that. Do you really care about improving and are you willing to have the courage + effort to do so? If you can’t say yes, then pass and spend the money on nice things.

Thanks! Have you ever done SCORE? I like it and it’s free haha Are any of these groups oriented more towards CEOs as opposed to founders/owners?

You mean non-owner CEOs? I haven't seen a real differentiation amongst the orgs. The model is mostly owner-operators with the minority being professional CEOs.
