I’m very skeptical of any person who ardently defends public schools bc they all end up being grads of “day schools” and “academies” with parents who wouldn’t dare sending their kids to public schools. All i learned in public school was who would pummel me if i crossed them
Pretty sure public schools are only good when you’re paying tuition indirectly through prohibitively high property taxes that keep low income students out of the school by making housing unaffordable to those families. That or magnet schools line Stuyvesant.
I went to a good public school that was an exception to this rule but it was huge (500 kids per year) and segregated.
Huge? My graduating class alone was 1000 
. Three thousand in the high school as a whole. A serious factory school.
