Amazon wanted its brands to make up more than 10% of retail sales by 2022. Two things: 1. This will never happen 2. I independently reached the exact same conclusion. Private label outside of grocery is a very foolish move by Amazon.

As a consumer, I'll be sad if Amazon curtails its private label ambitions. I've found Amazon stuff to be excellent value, similar to Costco's Kirkland private label.

Just looked through my Amazon history. I have dinnerware/silverware, bed sheets, a ton of USB cables that are good. I also trust the reviews more--I'm confident if an Amazon brand product has really good reviews, they're not fake or managed.

The electronics I've bought from them have failed me. I don't respect their operational ability because they're always out of stock. I wouldn't trust their reviews. Employees have an incentive to futz them just like they do to look at 3rd party data. Also, comp.s may leave neg
