      Short answer. Don’t know exactly. Longer answer: people think that amazons retail business is low margin (fewer by the day) but they’re wrong. The marketplace business is very high margin. For example they take a 15% cut of every sale and charge advertising. Both r 10% margin.

      Their 1st party business is low margin but it is the loss leader that powers the highly profitable 3rd party. Awe is out of my area of expertise. Also prime subscriptions are also 100% margin!

      One more point that is important. Walton and Bezos are both freaks of nature. Sinegal perhaps is not but he may just bide it well.
