Disagree with that as the cause for lack of PPE. While buyers should ABSOLUTELY be careful buying PPE overseas (mostly China), the strongest disincentive is not the chance of being ripped off by China inc. (which happens), but the uncertain regulatory environment back home.

"What is certain about it?" is a better question. - Will my goods be seized for price gouging? - Will my masks be deemed acceptable for use x? use y? - Can I get FDA approval for my ppe equipment making facility? - Will my goods be stopped by US customs for not meeting fda reqs?

And? Countless companies faced the problems I listed. Personally, I looked at getting a mask-making machine but decided against it because FDA needs 90 days to approve facility, if they do at all. Just because you didn't doesn't mean it's not a problem for others.
