R0 is dynamic. It's not determined just by environment (density and humidity etc) and the nature of the virus - it's also determined by herd immunity. So, even if flu X or cold Y is a more infectious virus, it may go down easier because it faces greater herd immunity.

The short incubation and infection cycle associated with the common cold dooms it where lockdowns are observed strictly.

I don't know the full set offhand but all the common ones should be able to be burned out in a 1-2 month lockdown.

No retroviruses at all can be burned out - although I suppose we could burn the carriers alive ... lol ..

Haha yes, it is one of the herpes viruses, which causes mononucleosis. i contracted when I was 15 years old. It sucked, I was extremely sick for a month. Fortunately it has never come back in more than 25 years since, but for sure it is still lurking in my dna causing damage.

Yeah I got it too :( And herpes simplex 1, more favorably known as cold sores. You didn't get it from me did you? Lol

Lol .. I am really not sure how I got it, I didn’t get it from sex. It is possible I got it from kissing a girl. Many carriers of EBV are unaware that they have it because if infected as a child you typically show no distinctive symptoms. Typically it’s nasty at age 15.
