Hot take: Why do we have a non-profit entity in the United States? Not sure we need it and it seems to cause a lot of problems.

When it works, it really works in my experience. But it rarely works. The more hyper-focused on a single issue, the better the chances it’s the right model. Also if it relies on gov’t grants/budget allocations, that tends to lead to administrative bloat.
