Put up two job posts today, one on Indeed, the other on Facebook. Where we are in East TX, it doesn't seem like people are dying for jobs. 14 applicants, slightly above average. Lot of government benefits coming (allegedly) and country-living is cheap - that may figure into it.
Wonder if you had the same experience in NY. Anecdotally covid unemployment is massive here, but not so much in TX.
I suspect we'd have many more applicants. Where we are, there are a lot of essential businesses like farms, warehouses, and oil workers who up til now have not been let go. A lot of restaurant workers applied today.
