Don't know of one, but I've always found that an interesting area of study. It seems like currency without any functional utility in the real world is almost a luxury... an unstable equilibrium, ultimately temporary.

I think that shell money, which afaik has no functional utility besides showing status if worn as a necklace, was a permanent solution for a lot of civilizations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_money …
