Foolish risk takers, the obese, smokers (evidence unclear), homeless, drug addicts, prison population, etc are much more likely to die from the virus. I empathize and am generalizing but our post virus population will on average be better.

Yeah I know. Tried to tone it down but was hard to make the point without sounding pro-eugenics, which I’m not.
I wonder if Italy doesn't come out of this a winner... It's awful, but they'll have slashed healthcare and pension costs to the elderly, and they might bail out of the EU so they can control their own currency again.
