      You need to look at NYC. That’s NY state. nYC is gaining. It’s the rest o the state that is hemorrhaging population.

      Yeah i know, i developed an impression by living in NYC. But still, TX/CA grows as a state, not just people moving from the countryside to Los Angeles or San Antonio.

      Didn't know that we've only just recently eclipsed 1950s numbers. White flight and the 70s/80s crime wave hurt NYC a lot.

      I have this pet theory that 90% of social phenomena can be explained by population density. If this lockdown goes on for another 2 weeks maybe i write a PhD or something.

      Voting patterns for starters. People always use race gender etc but honestly population density works better as a predictor. Attitudes towards immigration. Social mobility, formality, attitudes towards education (think East Cost old money vs SV/Seattle tech).
