In litigation, sometimes it's worse when your counterparty is an idiot. You end up spending a lot more money because their lawyer is pulling them by the nose, filing pointless motion after motion. In the meantime, you gotta pay to deal with those motions. Not fun.

I notice the same in commercial negotiations, dealing with idiots is the absolute worst, I would rather have a smart shark any day across the table than a moron.

I hardly ever run across an idiot in commercial negotiation but I see a lot of people who are inexperienced and emotional and they can be a real headache.

What do you negotiate? For me I have these veryyyyyy long negotiations with asian guys who are like 30 years older than me on average and it is not easy.

I've negotiated all kinds of things from plastic precursor to DDR3 to IT services to operations outsourcing to IP licensing I have personally negotiated over 2 billion dollars worth of various things
