Poor countries have common sense, and the East Asians have effective government, but the West is stuck with incompetent bureaucrats who can neither lead nor get out of the way.

WHO said it’s not a pandemic and you shouldn’t wear masks. CDC made its own tests and bungled them. FDA blocked state tests for weeks and mask production for months. Sporadic regional lockdowns and no internal borders mean this fire is going to burn until it’s out of fuel.
