Official Salaries in Warsaw are about the same as in Moscow, AFAIK?

Yes, more or less the same - but that's about it. What about Krakow vs. Krasnodar - I assume there's no competition there.

The cost of living in Krasnodar is considerably lower than in Krakow. Plus there are far more business opportunities, for a Ukrainian. Anyway, St Pete is a better comparison to Krakow. Krasnodar is more Lodz or Bialystok.

I know Poland relatively well. Broadly speaking, I'd say standard of living in Moscow /St Pete way higher than Warsaw?Krakow. But poorer cities in Russia are way worse than poorer cities in Poland. Overall, Russians probably have more disposable income, but Poles more security

A few weeks ago, I also have quite a few Polish friends, so I think I can make a fair comparison. Their GDP PPP is very similar, per capita, but the larger black economy gives Russians more disposable income. Although Poland is not as unequal as Russia.

Small Polish towns are much, much nicer than small Russian towns. Russia needs about another decade to get to that level imo. Black economy - sure, I know you bring that up a lot. :) But it doesn't reflect on Russia well either.

Agree & said that. But Russian large cities are much, much nicer than Polish large cities. Also, don't forget Poland got sh*t loads of EU cash to do places up. ps. Black economy very relevant. Compare nightlife in Krasnodar to comparable income/size EU cities: Is pretty obvious

I went to Warsaw and it was wonderful. Hard for me to imagine many Russian cities are better than it.

Well, I'm not being smart. But you may want to see for yourself before making a judgement like that. I think both Moscow & St Petersburg are well ahead of Warsaw. Which, I agree, is a very, very nice city, that I enjoy visiting.
