I am actively a part of 2 slack masterminds and 3 different e-commerce forums. It's super helpful to have community when shit hits the fan.
I think that Amazon as a way to build one's brand is grossly underrated. The purchase experience is short. The interaction with the product is long. Build a brand with the latter.

I would agree, but the barriers that Amazon puts up for you to re-engage your customers makes it tougher. Obviously, the better your product, the more likely they'll seek you out for more. We put a lot of work into re-engaging our Amazon customers.

Our repeat purchase rate on Amazon is way lower than on our own website though. LTV is a true metric of your brand. If LTV is higher off AMZ than on, then your own site is more important for long term brand health.
