The New York State insurance fund sent an auditor out to Houston TX to audit a workers compensation policy we had for a clerical employee who worked for me for less than 3 months. Premium was less than $100. No claim or dispute. Audit happened 2 years after policy terminated.

Not exaggerating. We had coffee together, the auditor and I, and were just both blown away that it was happening. I tried multiple times to get nysif to cancel audit but no...they wanted to do it.
