      President Cuomo? Possible (tallest midget effect) but IMO there is a reason why he was not in the big 2020 pool. Too many NYS scandals adjacent to him, and extreme left positions vs national.

      President Cuomo is going to happen. He'll at least be a candidate. Alternative hypothesis: he saw a crowded pool and thought I'll wait 4 years.

      My alternative hypothesis: pool was crowded but i think a lot of the smarter politicians thought: after 4 years of "Trump is historically unpopular/incompetent/will be impeached/beaten in 2020" if i run and lose against him i'm done.

      Yeah maybe, but even if he wasn't the diff between how easy the task was painted (sure thing) and reality (say a 50/50 chance) would be huge.
