The Chinese characters for 凸 convex and 凹 concave are cool.

They are the same in both nowadays simplified and traditional Chinese. And bumpy is actually “凹凸不平”, instead of simply “凹凸”. Fun fact: simple as they may seem like, they were two characters that most of us Chinese find hard to beautifully write bc of its different structure
I can type, but cannot write Chinese and having seen the way I write 大 or 人, I know exactly what you mean. 凹凸 are probably some of the few characters I can draw properly haha.

That’s pretty good. Chinese characters are way less that English vocabulary and frequently used ones are even much less. So 2000 is enough to read newspapers and only thing left could be the combinations and sentence constructions

Hahah, I remember when i was in middle school, i even went online to search for tutorials on how to beautifully write them without looking like I’m drawing something. Turned out the 笔顺, the sequence of strokes was the most important thing.
