In the future, after this virus is gone, what is an acceptable virus death rate to shutdown the country? It seems like there is no acceptable rate.

810,000 hospitalizations for the flu in the 2017-2018 season. Not comparing Influenza to Covid-19, but there are a hell of a lot of causalities that have been ignored.
Yeah but 810,000 is 2,300 per day (yes it's seasonal) across the entire United States. We got over double that in NYC yesterday, plus flu.

It sounds like you are comparing the two. (Which should be fine; we can only compare different things) This one is different. Allowing millions to suffer or die — both from Coronavirus and other causes that can’t be treated because hospitals are overrun — is too high a price
