No deaths in Australia yesterday, for fourth consecutive day. Deaths have actually trended down vs. last week. With total deaths of 7, we are quite some distance from the hundreds of thousands of deaths predicted by John Hempton, while accusing Scott Morrison of "mass murder".

Lyall, you’re just wrong about this dude. You need to change your mind. Looking at deaths is like looking at data from March 2nd because that’s how many days it takes you to die.

Look I'm not disputing this is not potentially serious, nor that we should not take some precautionary actions until we have more data available. But Hempton has been accusing Scott Morrison of mass murder, which is a fairly extreme position.

Murder is a strong word but if that’s what is necessary in order to scare a risk taking politician into putting the lockdown needed to avert major deaths, so be it.
