do you think it's possible (politically/economically) to put a moratorium on interest and rent for a few months?
Further, it's healthy to have some businesses die from time to time. It's unrealistic to go into business expecting to be saved irrespective of your cash savings and whether or not you have insurance.

Completely agreed on the letting businesses die. All the talk about bailing out businesses is frustrating. But I think, even with pausing interest/rent, you'd still have bad businesses die. That's OK.

And the hope would be, the landlords and the banks also get to pause their mortgage/debt liabilities. So commercial property owner doesn't have to pay mortgage, PE firm owning a Hilton doesn't have debt payments, the bank doesn't have to service capital. Everyone just pause.
