Hot take: I think we’ll all be wearing effective masks in high-risk situations <6 months.

Well-reasoned, thoughtful take: you're right. I really dig how you changed your mind. I hope I can be so great as to when the facts change.

Have you thought about getting in the mask business? Seems to play to your strengths (d2c, custom products, china manufacturing contacts).

Yes, but very briefly. I basically ran in the other direction. 1. Doesn't align with my long-term goals and life is too short for anything that doesn't 2. Very risk. Government can come in and ban you. Amazon can too. 3. Requires licensing (maybe) 4. Everyone I know is.

Oh cool then. On 4 — that’s great! I’ll buy them. :-) The trick in this stuff (for me) is to say “OK everyone else is going to make masks. What opportunity does that create?”

Selling gold pans to the panhandlers. My problem with capitalizing on these ideas is that I lack the stable of talent to execute on my (sometimes) good ideas.

Not enough capital? Or not the tools to hire and manage the talent?

More than enough capital, which is why I'm trying to get a handle on the economics of this situation, so I can hopefully profit. I'm still a weak manager. I am just only building tools I can use to manage/delegate without micromanaging.

Over the summer, I partnered with someone I met to run a mineral rights auditing company that was inspired by our success in litigation financing. Was a huge time-suck.https://oilstub.com/

I've launched 3 businesses. Everyone liked that one. Only one that failed.

Yeah. It was universally adored. The other two were universally hated. Go figure.
