For anyone who doesn't know, this graph is yet another example of how you can't trust Chinese statistics. They've fudged the numbers here by only including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. That's like us only submitted data for university towns or something.

I dont think that matters tbh. Lots of EU countries rank high in these and yet get hit hard/not ebough precautions. Plus you have the pinker type ppl who probably would rank high on these.

I don't fault Italy. They didn't know they couldn't believe the China numbers and they probably thought Iran was incompetent. I bet Steven Pinker sucks at math actually, haha.

Those PISA rankings aren't really apples-to-apples though when you're comparing city states/clusters of cities to nations with even 100mm pop, no less 350mm. Not shocked though that we rate poorly against CA, etc.
