We realize we're going to have to ship all of these manually. It was a total nightmare. We had 300 orders and not enough time. We're counting down the minutes til FedEx and UPS arrive. We actually got it all shipped. It was painful. 10/

We just weren't set up to ship through Seller Central. It was 5x faster through the system we had built that used the API. We decide to turn off Prime. This killed the final few days of sales before VDay. We finally hear back from our support ticket. 11/

Their message is, essentially: "That's just how it works. Sometimes the API will give you different results than the Seller Central interface." Which, for us, this meant: "Prime is no longer available to you." 12/

Obviously this is not acceptable. We go back and forth. After two weeks, and re-opening the ticket several times, and always getting the same answer, we search on Linked In for anyone who works in the Buy Shipping division on AMZ. I send a message. 13/

They replied! It was very helpful! They look at our API integration and they say "Hey, you are returning the Must Ship By field in your data, but that's an optional field. Try leaving it empty." And it worked! 14/

We hadn't changed anything on our end. They must have put new restrictions related to the data in that field. It still doesn't really make sense, but we found a solution. We re-enabled Prime. 15/

And in all this forum searching, I realized that FedEx One Rate was now available in Buy Shipping... if you enter the EXACT right dimensions for the package. So we're moving to One Rate. We'll save a bunch on shipping and also expand to the entire country for most items. 16/

As an apology for our troubles, Amazon has of course suspended us from Premium Shipping. When we disabled Prime, it meant all of our Two Day orders were now classified as "Premium". FedEx and UPS really dropped the ball around Feb 11-13. 17/

We shipped everything on time, using Ground and Home (outside of Buy Shipping since Prime was disabled) but they were delivered late. We dropped to 95% Late Delivery (the threshold is 97%) and we were suspended. 18/

It doesn't seem to be impacting us, because we're back on Prime, and our Prime metrics are fine. As long as we use Buy Shipping, we aren't penalized for Late Delivery issues. 19/19
