Hello from South Korea. It took about a week-and-a-half to get the coronavirus under control with large-scale testing, closing schools, wearing masks, etc. Why are the experts so confident that this can't be contained?

It can be contained for short periods, but then what do you do to keep it contained? Keep the entire country under semi-quarantine? Do you block all foreign travelers? In order to stay contained you need every country to be as effective at containment as SK.

Imho, you can do Singapore level contact tracing but it’s only a matter of time, if you don’t do permanent quarantine, that you get another shincheonji church super spread event. In summary, to maintain containment you need to: 1. Block all travelers 2. Maintain Singapore level

Containment 3. Test like crazy 4. Stay in semi quarantine (social distancing) 5. Not get unlucky 6. Not have the entire country go nuts before you get a vaccine
