True or false: during financial crises, public equities sell at greater discounts than private equities.

I’d argue this is a false comparison since public equity prices every millisecond and trades often. PE is the opposite. Apples to oranges.

True, there are a bunch of differences that may make these two classes of assets not worth comparing. With that said, let me try to anyways: Were there better deals to be had in public market equities or private market equities during the GFC of 2008?

Really? Is that because public equities, by virtue of being larger and public, had much more access to credit during the period of distress?

Public markets more efficient. True steals were found in privates.
