If you believe the Chinese data, that they’ve, in an unprecedented and heroic shutdown, managed to stop #COVID19, what’s their plan going forward? When Deng Xiaoping met with Lee Kuan Yew said: “You only have Singapore. If I only had Shanghai, I could fix China must faster.”

China has 1.4 billion and in many ways is the most international destination in the world. How can they possibly prevent a second wave of this virus when each province has a different level of competence and honesty in its reporting? Hard to imitate Singapore’s model.

Too many countries have major community transmission epidemics. I don’t see how we don’t get into a start stop quarantine pattern without huge global coordination, which of course can’t work on the African continent.
