I just made a list of the biggest mistakes I've made in my life and then attributed each to a root cause. The most common one was failure to step back and not look at the big picture. - Spent 10s of 1000s of hours trying to become a grandmaster of chess.

have figured out that the small amount of money I was saving on rent was obviously going to be compensated for later even if the business failed. (there's a long list) Some other causes of big mistakes: - Small sample size - Dismissing other options too early in process
