China has 1.4 billion and in many ways is the most international destination in the world. How can they possibly prevent a second wave of this virus when each province has a different level of competence and honesty in its reporting? Hard to imitate Singapore’s model.

Too many countries have major community transmission epidemics. I don’t see how we don’t get into a start stop quarantine pattern without huge global coordination, which of course can’t work on the African continent.

All it takes in China for this thing to restart in China is a single dishonest mayor or provincial party chief. And trust me, that will be very very hard to prevent.

They ought to do workplace quarantines where people live at their workplace. They'd need tight boundary control around each factory. Then factories could start up again without spread of the virus.
