Another variable that needs to be added to that is a low stress life style. Stress is not just a killer but it can definitely age you as well.

There's a good Charlie Munger quote about this. When asked who lived the longest of his cohort he answers people with a low-stress lifestyle: judges, professors, etc.

That's a really deep question. I would argue that each and every one of us's core mission is to maximize the longevity of our species. If not, we wouldn't exist.
