Tl;dr 1. Sars looked like warm weather killed it, but actually it was control measures which coincided with warming temperature 2. Flu transmits more easily in cold weather. It sometimes transmits more easily in humid weather. We don't know if

Virus outbreaks look seasonal for a whole host of reasons: 1. activities done at different time of year 2. transmissibility by temperature 3. melatonin and its affect on immune susceptibility 4. depletion of uninfected population.
