How do you solve problems? For me, I literally pace around in circles visualizing different ideas unrigorously applying a from-memory checklist of useful techniques. I want to make this process faster and more accurate by making a written checklist of useful techniques.

For any significant decision, I ignore my intuition. Why? I read and think of intuition as a machine learning algorithm. Until you've fed it enough relevant data, it doesn't work. By rigorously working through problems I can develop my intuition for when I'm old.
