CDC has done a decent job at major airports though even people are not happy.

Yes. US was also the first to react (not counting North Korea), cancel flights, evacuate citizens from Wuhan, keeps non citizens away etc.

We're still the hegemonic power in the world. Takes a lot less balls for us to cancel flights than other nations. Plus Trump loves that kind of thing. That said, if we did testing at airports, it was temp-testing which doesn't work. Further, there are MAJOR questions about US

testing up until this point and capacity going forward. It really looks like we have fewer cases than you'd expect by population and international travel because we're not testing and when we do, our results are not accurate.
