I have a 32" ultra-wide curved. It's amazing. Can have 3 windows open. Great for excel. I recommend external keyboard + magic trackpad. Also, a small luxury is to have a dedicated laptop charger at your desk. I love to be able to plug only the monitor+charger every morning

If you are using one monitor as a dashboard it could make sense to keep dual monitor (I assume that you are only considering 4k monitors)

It wasnt my choice, the screen was there :) But in the end for my usage I prefer it. It's easier to have everything in "front" of you on 1 curve big monitor I had a dual monitor setup before that & with my usage I found that a bit tiring if you're constantly moving new pages/docs
