“Why does the other side want to do this deal?” I really like that question to minimize mistakes in investing. For example, someone is selling a division of a company in a carve-out. But I don’t know why given projections are optimistic. Big red flag.

The “pre-Mortem” is also very useful; ask yourself : “we’ve done the deal, it’s 12 months later and we’ve failed. What happened?”
