Sales and persuasion have got to be the most undervalued skills in life. That has a negative connotation to it, but it shouldn't. You can be a good salesman without being a slimeball. In fact, life is long, and it's best to never be a slimeball when you're selling.
Storytelling is definitely important in terms of communicating information. Storytelling is basically a logical sequence that appeals to peoples' emotions and relies on things they already understand. I don't think it's necessary. Incentives, however, are absolutely so.
