      If you do the math, that's $83,000* per homeless client per year... *Not including indigent healthcare, law enforcement &other government services they consume. Imagine how much taxpayers would have to earn before income taxes to have $83,000 per year to spend on housing?

      Better than yours in the Granite State. No tax on dividends or other income. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, NH taxes income except wages...

      I do believe dividends are taxed, but that doesn't seem to apply to reinvested mutual fund dividends. For all intents and purposes, we only have local property taxes. And you can deduct the first 10k of those on Federal taxes.

      NH is famous for having the best taxes in the United States, I'm pretty sure. NH doesn't have sales tax. It does have a tax on dividends, but I think it only applies to those from equities.

          Brother's looking at homes around Hanover and the nice ones are too big, while the more modestly dimensioned ones are kind of shabby. He's even looking across the river in VT... Claims that lower purchase prices there partially compensate for the tax regime. I'm not convinced.
